Anyone tried cutting 12 gauge target loads to turn them into a poor mans solids ?

Been reading up on it and think they would be handy to go after something big when when all you have is bird-shot.

Not too sure what the auto's were doing there at the end. grin

I've never tried that. Looks lethal at short range where accuracy is less of a factor.

I watched another clip where the guy was using a single barrel and scoped, accuracy was comparable to the slugs, useful out to 75 yards.

They hit like a bomb, initial penetration is normal, like a slug, but after that the shot disperses and the wad turns itself inside out.

Unfortunately that was all I could afford as a kid. Not long after that I managed a job droving cattle from out there down to the Riverina over a thousand miles away.

A train trip to Sydney for a mint condition .303 jungle carbine and a new BRNO .22 b/a repeater, an new Puma hunting knife (that I still have) and heaps of ammo. grin

Carried it for forty plus years
The Pumas were the Rolls Royce of knives in Australia those days, (sixty's) imported from Germany.

I'll be looking forward to those!

I've been slammed with work this spring, not much time to get out. I did do some beaver removal for some old folks from church and it reminded me of this pic that I don't believe I've shared. This dude weighed 70 lbs. and was caught a few years ago. Pretty sure it's bigger than some bear I've caught lol.
