Yeah, I managed the two property s there for five years, they were the days when I joined Scone Gun Club.

Dingo Gully, or Crockets as it were known then had been abandoned for years, the cattle had bred up and gone wild, they were an inbred nasty bunch of mongrels too. grin
I eventually trapped about eighty percent of them and sent the lot through to Scone sales. The yardmen up there had some fun moving them around for sale. laugh
The rest, mostly micky bulls I caught with my dog Trumby, cut them, de-horned them and let them go again. I eventually ate most of them.

There were three young fellas that used to come up and camp with their ferrets, they worked for a butcher in Cessnock, when I knew they were coming I'd go up and shoot one, dress it and hang it overnight to set. It was a good arrangement, they'd call in and have it cut up within 30 minutes, smile

Great pictures and stories. I really like the look of the country out there in those pictures.

HK,
It was in those hills where a couple of old boys usŤd to run their hounds.
Mostly Saturday mornings, it was a joy to sit out on the back deck with a cupper and listen to the music of those hounds when on the traill. Probably after Black Wallaroo,s out there.

The oldest of my cats has gone blind... Vet bills (including specialist) add up to around $1500... The specialist is trying to convince us to do MRI, which is just short of 3K...
Even if they find anything in his brain, theres nobody in Au who perfoms open brain surgery on cats... I guess MRI would be followed by another round of tests and fairly random drug prescriptions...

Poor bugger! We're going to give him all attention we can, spoil him as much as we can, for as long as we can.

Sorry to hear that, mate.
Animals become family, and it becomes very hard when they get sick or towards the end of their life.

I been wondering how beneficial the pet insurance is with the RSPCA.
I see advertisements on TV with it regularly.

Sorry to heat that elof ... frown As Ian said they do become family !! We have the Pet insurance on both of ours, we did so with this two after the $10K year with the previous two pups. Our girl has some problems and the insurance has proven great. Even balancing premiums vs claims we are still well in front.

Those boys are our children basically.
He's 14...
When we got back (with them) from Europe they were too old to get the insurance for them.
