That picture of the pickup in front of the house might be mistaken for rural, but is actually taken at the rear of our business in town. Our shop is on 3rd street, so three blocks off city center. You could just barely get there in a truck with 4WD and good studded snow tires if you kept the coal poured to it. It was two more days before they got us plowed out. Not many customers those days, ha!!

I'd rather the snow than mowing, except when it's the feedlot, then I'd rather mow smile

I've been looking at that picture, that's a flat top ?
The snow is right up to the deck.

It's hard for an Aussie to even imagine that much snow.

A mate of mine worked for an American who has a large cattle operation at Colorado, he was invited go there with his family during winter one time.
he was explaining to me how different it was there feeding cattle that were all brought indoors to keep them alive during the heavy snows.
here our winters only get cold, no snow, but winter feed can get scarce and moving them around to feed becomes important.

This is when it becomes important to grow winter oats for green feed and still fattening cattle for market.

No, regular bed Ian. The snow is about half up the tailgate there. Here's a picture of my sister's motorhome. It's got a van-style front on it. Most of what is pictured came in two storms. After that it was all work and no time to mess around with more pictures. Lots of loss of structure, but no loss of life, so very fortunate and thankful in that respect.

I've lived in places that get much more snow than this, but there it is an every-year occurrence, and so the community is prepared. Here in the low ground, most years we have about 6" on the level, some years less. The county is in the process of rewriting building codes now lol.

Lol, that motorhome ain't going nowhere. smile

Looking back at the pic of your ute, I can clearly see its not a flatbed now. I should have worked it out when I couldn't see any tie rails.
