Glad you're home safe elof!

Winter is set in pretty hard in this part of the world. Hardest I've seen in this locale since moving here about 20 years ago.

ETA: -12F at my place this morning. That's bad enough, but Stanley, Idaho, about 150 miles East had -42F eek

Howdy gents. Another day in paradise here. And that means cold and snow. Not as bad as HK, but we hit 3 degrees this morning.

Afternoon everyone! I had a question I was hoping you experienced rats could help me with. I finally beat my InfiDu into submission and it was in need of a sharpening. I took it up to 1000 grit on stones and then finished with a 3000 grit strop and a few strokes on a 6000 grit strop. My question is, how would you suggest keeping INFI sharp? Does it work well stropping on a leather strop as other knives do, or should you use a ceramic rod with the same spine-leading motion as Busse's website suggests? Although stropping does not remove much metal (from what I can tell - I only just got my first strop for Christmas this year), it is still removing metal when compared to using a ceramic rod that simply realigns the edge. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Mine are all done by hand with a diamond (fine, DMT) and then a ceramic. When I strop I only use a piece of harness leather, with a bit of Jewelers rouge on the edge...

INFI is quite easy for maintaining the edge. Once you have reprofiled your edge to desired angle, stropping will do, occasionally a few passes on ceramic stick after cutting hard stuff.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Hope you've all had good holidays and are keeping warm for those of us affected by the snow storms!
