I LIKE THEIRS BETTER THAN OURS
-no renewal fees
-no switching technologies every 2 years
-no advertising campaign "autodialers"
-no charging
-predictable coverage
-they double as a WMD (weapons of missus destruction)
-you make and repair your own

...ah for the good old days smile

Ian-

"You're gonna die"

Pretty much the way it goes among outback buddies with serious snakebite in the arse. smile

PS Yes, I know that current wisdom advises against cutting and suction, but you might be surprised at how few folks know that.

That's true, it was the old method, and still believed by many today.
We keep a compression bandage handy here at the house, just in case.
If anyone gets bit here, I'm betting it will be my wife, she's already had a few close calls.
I'm more practiced at watching out for them, and have lived in far worse snake country than here, even I have had a couple of close calls over the years. grin

Yeah, one develops a "sense" over the years about where to be alert. I, too, have been surprised by a few because I was too focused on some task to pay proper attention to my surroundings. But, so far so good. smile

Like with you, the wife has developed no "sense" and therefore never pays attention. She is the more likely to get bit, and for that we also have compression bandages. (Having said all of that, watch me get bit wink )

I always remember barking strainer posts one time and being summer I was sweating pretty well, so I sat down with my back to a Iron Bark tree where I had left my water bottle, I reached over to pick up the bottle and laying beside it was a Death Adder, less than a yard from me. grin

I've never been kn own to get up off my arse quicker, and lost interest in being thirsty. laugh
I always carried an old scatter gun in the back of my Landcruiser, so the old adder had a worse day than I did.
