Not a leaver action, but I had a look at a Ruger gunsight the other day, 16.5 inch barrel, flash eliminator, stainless steel and bolt action that came in .223 or .308.

A sweet little rifle for sure.

I like it. Saw one, but no opportunity to shoot it (.308).

I agonised long and hard about the Gunsight but could not pull the pin and buy one. My 2016 gift to myself will be a Remington 7615, just deciding between .223 and .308 now..... wink

That looks like a quick-operation weapon, in fact, the police have a large order.

I'd do the .308 ...not a fan of the .223 ...though it will put a lot of hot lead in the air quicker than most...

I have a couple of .308s (my favourite hunting round), I was thinking of this as something a little lighter/handier. Much the way I use my Trapper Carbine now....wait....there is the probable answer.... wink

In reality I just want a new toy that goes bang.... smile

LOL. I know the feeling. grin
I also have two .308's counting my 12ga/.308 Bruno combo, the .223 will take most anything in the southern states here. Having said that, I managed Gregory Downs station for three months to relieve the then manager for time out. There was a gigantic set of Buffalo horns mounted over the doorway in his office that had been taken with his .223.

A Ruger mini rancher semi auto. He used it for everything up there.
At that time I had my .303 Jungle carbine and a Mauser 3000 in 30-06, a nice rifle with a Kahles 2.5 to 7 power scope.

Yep, that's the one, the one I handled was in .223 and stainless.
The forward mounted scout scope would be new to me, though they did come with extra mounts, but the peep sight has to be removed to mount them.

No doubt a capable round, I've had several .223's. And, if I stand my ground that the .22 Long Rifle will take most game in North America, I'd have to stand behind the .223- and I do. I've just found the .308 capable of better consistent accuracy and I am at a loss to explain why ...except for Ballistic coefficient or some such...

I also favor the .308, but having two already I'm thinking of another caliber this time.
