Hope linking Kickstarter project is not against the rules. I have no affiliation with those guys whatsoever.

Just came upon this a few minutes ago, I think it is pretty nifty piece of gear
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1183062893/walkabout-ti-worlds-only-personal-water-filter-in

TI body and filtering 'mechanism' will make for a robust, easy to carry and care for filtering option.

Looks good but I am happy with my $20 Swayer Mini that weighs 2oz.

They look well made, elof.

I'm wondering how they compare to the Life straw, they look to be a similar principal, but more up market.
I imagine they have a much better chance of survival when doing it rough out in the bush.

Let's just say that they are going to withstand a lot more punishment than any of the plastic filters, freeze proof, won't get squashed, filters can be cleaned easier than other filters.

Very cool filters!!

I do like the fact they can take more abuse. And they look cool in titanium....

But i love my Sawyer mini. Size, weight, ways it can be used, the amount it can filter, and the ease of cleaning it. Just a couple squirts with the plunger and its back like new.

But if i had big money id be in for one of these too for the coolness factor.

I think we start by becoming convinced a thing is worth having, then appreciating it's value and integrating it into our kit, then getting one that can be depended upon no matter what.

I'd start with a Sawyer. The upgrade will come. smile
