Enough of that, here's a couple of 'yotes from last trip, all furred-up from the Polar Vortex smile

That's a great picture.

What caliber are you using?

More of an aspiration than a reality.

Nice job! I've seen sign but never a live yote in VA--although I think I may have once caught a fleeting glimpse of one behind the house. Hear them all the time out hunting at night.

These were killed with a .243. I am more familiar with that cartridge than any other, but there are good arguments for .22 or even .20 caliber 'fur' guns here. smile Or even .17 wink

Solid hits with a .243 are pretty friendly, but anywhere on an edge can be ugly.

I used a 250-3000 for a spell. No longer have that gun, but it worked for antelope and coyote ...too small for desert sheep though.

243 is a quality round. Have a single shot for the kids--doesn't shoot worth a darn. Would like to pick up a bolt action some day. 25-06 is still one of my all-time favorites. grin

A gun writer here once wrote that if there ever was a caliber designed for Australia, it would be the 25-06.
I used to own a Roberts 257 in a Robers rifle and that came very close to perfection here.

25-06 is an all-time great, as is it's parent case 30-06.
