aaaa_cccc: this pic was taken with a flash. It highlights the different grinds on the M9 and RMDX:

Looks like FFG vs half height convex.....

Magoo, it almost looks like a 3/4" height full convex to my eyes. Kinda hard to say without having it in front of me, though.

Welcome to the Swamp! Nice blade! I've had a few. Pretty sure they were all full height convex.

Get a work sharp belt sharpener and a strop and that Rat will slice atoms.

That gets my vote as well (full height convex) but considering the source (Magoo) he could have used a fisheye to fool us.

From the BF Swamp Specs thread:

RatManDeaux (RMDx LE) (Black Paper micarta) (SR101) (FULL Height Convex grind) = 12.2 oz; "approx." .1875"; 6” blade; 11.25” oal

No fish eye - just a poor quality photo ! wink

I've gotta say I still think it's not a full height, meaning the curvature of the convex bevel doesn't go all the way to the spine and has a flat bevel between.

RN over at the Yard had one, here's what he had to say :

"While I have a better feel for the grind of the RMDx than before, I struggle more with it compared to the other knives. I think they left more steel on this convex and started the plunge later than on other convex blades I have."

I'm not convinced it's full height regardless of what the specs are listed at on that thread, just sayin'..... wink

Magoo, no doubt you are correct ...but I just HAD to needle you a bit. I just don't know what came over me- swamp gas, perhaps.
