Double cut is the knife gets bead blasted with two different sized mediums, which gives you a smooth matt finish on the steel.
Double cut INFI

The NMFSH is directly below the light source so the finish is not that visible.

Elof, my good man, you're awesome.

Thanks for that.

What are your impression about that finish?

DCBB finish is a nice looking finish. Only thing I ran into is if your out in the rain or it gets wet you need to get it dried off as soon as you can and then get some kind of oil on it. All of the bead blasting cause minute pockets on the steel that will retain moisture and even INFI will rust. So just remember to treat DCBB kinda like you would SR-101 and Brother your in business. If any kind of food prep is to be done then try a Food Grade of Mineral Oil.

that's correct russ if i remember this correctly.....

Satin finishes reduce the amount of surface area for oxidation to form, yet it is still prone to rust, blasted knives create "pits" or more surface area, which can lead to more oxidation in tougher to clean areas.

Hmmm... I'm a weird man sometimes (well, okay, most of the time), but I think I'm more aroused by the comp finish than double cut.

There's only one way to know for sure...

And I just figured that my credit card company will probably begin to send me personalized greeting cards next Christmas...
