Easy for the ones already own:

Randall Model 11, "Alaskan Skinner" 5.0" blade, purchased direct & waited for it to be made while stationed in Alaska.

Randall Model 14 "Attack", 5 1/2" blade as above, {Don't think it was called the "Airman", then ?} when placed on levy for 'Nam. {During the mid to late '60's one could get a Randall, literally before you were shipped out, providing you furnished a copy of your
orders to Randal himself !}

Still have both but are now keepsakes & mementos of Military Service and the big game hunting did after discharge while living in Alaska, working on DoD Contracts for contractors for a year and a half.

It "only" took a couple of months to get a Randall direct, "way back" then, plus if you were on orders for S/E Asia he made every effort to get *your* knife completed so you had it in time to leave United States Soil with it in your possession !

That meant a great deal to Servicemen then, regardless of one's MOS, etc.

A Barry Wood folder from the early '70's, made using his {then} proprietary butterfly-like design and dark burgundy scales. While eclipsed today it was and is, a superbly designed and executed knife, that's still tight yet smooth in opening & closing, today.

Probably is own most cherished possession, knife-wise !

Not sure if still have them but various correspondence with Randall was on his letterhead, hand typed {presumably by him !} and actually signed by him in ink !

Considered them quite valuable then but not in terms of $ !

My first grail knives were the Satin Jack, Deseret Jack, Rat Weiler, and the BA. Then I actually got to hold them. None of them fit my hand. I now have my grail knives: Chopweiler, Dog Skinner, HRLM, RMD, and a satin orange SJTAK (HOG). I also have matching satin sandstorm handled FSHHOG and Nat. Outlaw, but they are more safe queens than grail knives.

This may seem strange to some, but as all of mine are "users" and all have different purposes (with lots of overlap) I really don't have a grail knife ...that said I do have a grail manufacturer.

Internet knife wisdom applies to most things in life: "As long as you don't store the thing when it's soaked and leave it be, you'll be fine."

Yeah, I was always sorry that I never bought three, but at the time Eric had said that they were short in supply so I only ordered the one.
